Sunday, October 8| Watercolour painting by Sally Chupick: City Snowscape

An landscape watercolor painting by Sally Chupick.Copyright by Sally Chupick

That is a by Canadian Sally Chupick from Kingston, Ontario.

Title: City Snowscape
Size: 30" x 11"
Medium: Watercolours

Artist's Statement:
This painting is one of a series of paintings I have worked on which is inspired by a particular view of our "Limestone City". (otherwise known as Kingston, Ontario) Highway 2 enters the city through a massive rock-cut hill of limestone which leads down to the gateway of the Rideau River where it meets Lake Ontario. Sometimes I focus on capturing the retreating landscape atmosphere(as in this painting), other times it is the play of light, or often the interaction of the shapes of this view that I find appealing to centre my attention on. It's interesting to me how many different paintings can be inspired by one place. (Then again...think of how many times Cezanne painted Mont St. Victoire)

Please take a look at her art blog "PaintersLife" and Sally's web site "Stoneheath Studio" where you will also find her oil paintings.
